Service charge distribution calculator

A service-charge pool at a property is retained 1% for administration, then split between staff. This calculator works out what each share comes to if the split is equal, or if it is weighted by days worked that month.

The working is important — and the guarantee matters as much. The shares never add up to slightly more or slightly less than the pool: HumanR allocates down to the laari, so a pool of 5,000 split five ways never leaves a rogue rufiyaa unaccounted for.

One property, one month. Service charge is collected per establishment, so a group with three sites runs three pools.

%

The Maldives ceiling is 1%. Anything above that is not a setting question — it is a legal one.

Only the site's own staff, and only those included this month.

Each employee receives

USD 5,120.68

87 staff sharing 445,500.00 after 1% retention.

Distributable less total paid out: 0.00. Leftover cents from the division are handed out one at a time, so the shares always sum to the pool exactly — some employees receive one cent more than others.

An estimate on the numbers you typed. A real month depends on who is on the site’s roster, who HR has included, and the retention percentage and basis that were frozen when the month was opened.

What a calculator cannot tell you, and a payroll has to

The pool is per site, not per company. Service charge is collected by the establishment, and only that site's own staff share it — a group running three properties runs three pools.

The admin percentage and the split basis are frozen when the month is created. Changing a site's default later never rewrites a month that has already been finalized.

HR can drop someone from a month without changing their record. Unticking a person re-splits the same pool across everyone left, so the total paid out does not change.

Shares always sum to the pool exactly. Leftover laari from the division are handed out one at a time, so the pool is never short by rounding and never over.

This calculator runs the same arithmetic as PayrollMath.AllocateShares inside HumanR, re-checked against the product’s own test cases on every build. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.
